“This piece was written in response to being given a slot at a summer music festival, where I was due to play at sunset. I imagined that it would be a great idea to write something suitable to be played when the sun sets! This is a joyful piece, capturing that sense of absolute well being that comes at the close of a summer’s day… as the sun sets and we are bathed in the warmth of the enflamed evening…and as the music comes to silence we are left with the quiet dark of a summer’s night…”
